Splurge

April 18, 2012 Comments off

Never have I found a beauty product which suits me. And when I find that particular product, I’ll cherish it and use it for years. You could say I’m a one woman product kinda person. I know that the price of this product is a tad steep but it has been my companion for years and it has never let me down. Vast improvement I would say. oh and it lasts me for at least 6 months which is well damn worth it laa. This is what I am talking about.

The slogan says it all..DON’T MAKE HER WAIT (as in don’t wait too long) Huge benefits come in small jars. I am just sharing what I deem best for myself. Its magic in a jar. Absolutely powerful.

Penang..Batu Feringgi

January 14, 2012 Comments off

The drive to Penang was I would say a rather LONG and TIRING one (yes even passengers feel the exhaustion) but one that opens one’s eyes to nature and its surroundings. There was no shortcut to Penang unless you take the plane that is. It was a neverending drive. After conquering tunnels and steep corners and turns, we finally saw the bridge. The beautiful bridge that seperates Penang from mainland Malaysia.

Main aim to Penang? To get to the legendary most talked about Hard Rock Hotel, fill our tummies and relax! No shopping too this leg of the trip. Well not too much shopping. Why I say so? Because during the duration of our stay we did not even venture out into the city. Just thinking about the infamous traffic jam makes me sick. So our stay throughout was just atop Batu Feringgi which I’ve since dubbed as the O.C slash Miami of Malaysia because of the tall and beautiful apartments facing the sea. All modern and chic apartments mind you. Names too were super canggih. There was Miami Green,Mar Vista,Island Resort just to name a few.

So Hard Rock Hotel did not disappoint. The facade itself was breathtaking. Staff? Excellent service from the bellboy right up to the managers. There was never a time you do not see a smile on their faces. Ok so back to the facade. Truly modern and a fantastic view of the sea. Even have their own private beach.

We were whisked to the  Kings Club Lounge for our check in as we booked a club room for 2 nights.

Service was prompt and within minutes we were ushered to our rooms. Like any other Hard Rock Hotel, every room comes with its own balcony. Ours overlooked the pool and the beach. I did not know why I did not take any pictures of the room! Too excited I guess. The only picture that I took was this. A cosy part of the room. My favourite part of the room. A so called lepak place.

We hit the pool soon after. The kids and the grown up men frolick in the water while me and mum just took in the sights.

I love the deco on our floor. Very chic and classy. Feels like home.

And there is also a photo kind of booth where you can take wacky pictures of yourself like these people did. Yes all on the floor’s landing.

Nasi Kandar was what we had for dinner. A must or so I’ve heard if you come to Penang. Although it wasn’t the place that friends have recommended but it was good nevertheless. Fingers and hands still smell of curry the day after. That is a sign of a well made curry right?

We then went to the Feringgi Night Market. Reminds me of Petaling Street in KL? Loads of fake goods and touristy souveniors. I am widely surprised that it’s sold freely here. The house of Vuitton and Chanel will die of a heart attack if they ever come here. Haha.

Breakfast was at the Starz Diner. It was named exactly like the one in Bali. Food wise? Bali has a more extensive range. It was also bigger. Quite a disappointment actually. Was hoping for more traditional Malaysian fare.

After breakfast we dropped the younger kids off at the Kids club and the older ones at Taboo (teen club) and off we went hunting for the perfect spa place. Pampered myself with a manicure, pedicure and a foot reflexology. My second time in my life doing the foot reflex and it sure ain’t the last. Too shiok!

More swimfest then after before dinner plus pool activities with the friendly Hard Rock Hotel staff. Spot ili dancing?

We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe on our last night courtesy of Mr Zahrin Ali our BFF. Food was heavenly and fantastic. Thank you so much Zahrin!

Pre dinner activity..Let’s colour!

And so this concludes the second leg of our holiday. Till we meet again Penang!

Never Enough

May 25, 2011 Comments off

How many is too many? Yeap talking about my favourite topic of course. Bags and shoes. So tell me when should we stop buying? A woman can never have enough in my opinion. No matter how often we say that this would be the last one, it never will be. Let’s face it. it’s a hobby. It makes us happy well at least it makes me happy and satisfied. Men can never comprehend our addiction. I’m lucky to have an understanding dude who showers me with gifts eventhough sometimes he does nag but not for long. Heh.

Ooo and girlfriends play a part too. Discourage or encourage. Opinion matters amongst us girls. What’s important? We always have something to talk about when we meet. A lame entry I know. Just something that popped up in my mind.

Conclusion? I NEVER have ENOUGH ;)

That Lost Mojo

December 8, 2010 Comments off

I have seriously lost it. My shopping mojo that is. Yes I hear the other half rejoicing back there. Why have said I lost it? Firstly while out with my son the other day at Ngee Ann City and with shops that were bursting at the seams with the word SALE and snaking queues at major boutiques like GUCCI and FERRAGAMO, me the so-called shopaholic was being nonchalant about it. Yes yes its still me. Weird? Yes I do find it weird. Even my son finds it weird. He was going like ‘Mummy aren’t you going to get anything?’ To which I replied ‘No why should I? Is there a need to?’ Steady ah! New me perhaps? Hey I lurvvvvve it! Prioritise the needs not the wants. Hah!

And so the next day the sister wanted to get some stuff from VS online so I thought great mojo’s coming back after telling her that I need to get some under things too. So after browsing and choosing what we or rather I (most of the stuff was mine anyway) wanted and when at the checkout, I chickened out. Yes I did. Weird feeling number 2. And up till now I still have those things in the shopping bag still not yet checked out & paid. I don’t know whats stopping me. Is it me or its somebody else?

When will this feeling last? Even bags don’t interest me much nowadays. I mean I’ll still be browsing my favourite sites and all and in my heart I said that I would want to get that bag kinda thing but after a few minutes of thoughtfulness I’ll just back out.I know people are shaking their heads when reading this. I know I’m in disbelief myself. But oh well one thing’s good come out of this. I get to save up much more.

And when my mojo’s back you’ll see that nothing will stand in my way!

Oh just so you know I am lusting for this right about now..it’s the clutch that SJP used in SATC 2
