Girls Arabian Night Birthday at the Bay

May 8, 2012 Comments off

Ok I’m finally blogging about the girls birthday bash. So many have been asking. It has been 3 months past due. Hahaha. Not that I don’t want to write about it but writing about this needs inspiration you see. And today’s the day that I have enough to inspire me to write.

I’m a sucker when it comes to planning. I plan way way ahead of the upcoming event. Well I have to be. You might not know what’s gonna happen if everything’s last minute, right? I’m lucky enough to have my sis and my best friend helping me along the way with the planning. We wanted something posh yet child friendly this time round. We did not want a HUGE one like the Alice in Wonderland birthday bash last year but just an intimate, personalised party where everyone knows everyone else and is not shy to mingle. It was also a kind of a Thank You event for all our friends who have helped us along the way during past events.

Doing it at a hotel was the last thing that I wanted what with the costs and all but my very generous best friend Zahrin who was also my kids ‘god-pa’ assured me that everything was in good hands and that I should not be worried. Everything was taken care of. His exact words were ” Just go there and have fun! You guys deserved it” I or rather we were truly blessed to have him.

We decided on The Fullerton Bay as it was a gorgeous hotel (spent an amazing annivasary here), the view was spectacular, staff were friendly and they were able to cater to whatever we needed where food was concerned example regarding the need to beĀ halalĀ friendly. The party itself was held at The Lantern, a rooftop verandah. An open space with a magnificient view by night.

One thing that I really like about booking this space is that we have the priveledge to do whatever we wanted. In terms of decoration that is. And I must say my sister who is the logistics person-in-charge did a great job with the place. Simple but yet it has that arabian feel to it.

Now what is the utmost important thing of a party? For me personally it has got to be the food. If the food is nice then your guests would definately enjoy the party more, right?

Guests were told of the theme way ahead thus the need to dress up as an arabian prince, princess, genie, oil sheikh you get the picture. And all our guests were so supportive of the theme! I am in awe that they came in their arabian splendour.

There was a genie too that night to the delight of the kids. He was as you guessed the game master of the night. He pranced, danced and made the kids warm up to him. All the games were hilarious!

But way before the games officially start, a prayer from Daddy the host of the party.

Game time!!

I was most impressed with how we gave the birthday cake or rather the birthday cupcakes a personalised touch. It was all last minute and I was glad that it came out superbly. Thank you to Ayu from SimplyCupcakes for the delicious cupcakes and to my favourite Aunty Lin the gold dust inspired brownies.

What is a birthday without a LUCKY DRAW,right? The funnest part of the night for everybody anticipating for a prize hehe.

The best dressed kids for the night. Ili’s best friend Sara and my nephew Ilhan.

Overall the birthday was a huge success. Up till today I could not forget the fun that all of us had. I am so thankful and greatful to have such a loving family who have stood by me all this time, helping out despite their busy schedules. I could never have done and planned everything without them. I Love you guys so very much!

For those who already know I LOVE taking food pictures. I don’t know why. I guess its because of their colour and texture? Oh and how good it turns out afterwards. Heh. I really feel that a blog entry should have loads of pictures don’t you think?

Last Friday the sis and her husband treated us all to a dinner at Carousel to celebrate her mum-in-law’s birthday. It has been a while since I last ate there and I was so looking forward. The menu was basically the same I guess every dinner. The menu will change only during high tea and lunch. Given a choice I’ll definately pick the menu for dinner.

And here are the people who make this all possible..

Thank you Meen and Phai for the lovely dinner..

Superheroes

It was like being in Movieworld Goldcoast or The Universal Studios. It’s as though you’re being transported to another dimension attending a superhero convention where superheroes and villains alike congregate. Even onlookers were curious to see so many colourful beings in shiny costumes. It was actually proud parents Norfasarie and Baihakki’s prince and princess’s birthday celebration and the birthday theme was a dead giveaway.. SUPERHEROES.

It was really fun to see so many adults and kids dressing up. Since we do not celebrate Halloween, this was the perfect opportunity to play dress up. Norfa was kind enough to let us know the theme way way ahead of the birthday thus there was ample time for us to prep ourselves on what to wear. Where else to get these uncommon super costumes? Why Ebay of course! Everything and anything is sold there.

Presenting Ili Nashra as daughter of THOR

Introducing Iva Nishrin as the daughter of SIF,THOR’S best friend (iva’s wearing my boots could you tell?)

And introducing Ivi Nishra as daughter of CAPTAIN AMERICA

Here are the superhero sisters!

Ok so lets talk about the birthday now. It was held at NSRCC or Safra Resort some of you might call it. A very modernised chalet bungalow which I like very very much because of the vast space and modern amenities. So as per theme, every nook and corner was decorated with reds, yellows, silvers, blues and superhero deco. Even the candy buffet was not spared. That for me is the best corner ever.

There were many games which both adults and kids participated and prizes were abundant! Then there was of course the neverending photo session. Hey it’s not always that you get to dress up you know. Enjoy the pictures!

A very HUGE THANK YOU to Norfa and Bai for inviting us..we truly had fun!!

All Grown Up

My little tyke is 4.She turned 4 on the 4th of February. And many would say how did time flew by so fast? I myself do not have that answer. My little girl is all vocal and loud these days. Shes potty trained fully, chooses her own clothes, accessorised herslf with plenty of knick knacks before going out and thinks that being a princess is the best thing in the world. Such is the thinking of a 4 year old.

I still remember clearly how difficult it was to bring her into this world. The pregnancy itself went very very well. Its the giving birth part that is tedious. Though it was not a long one, Malik said that this was indeed my hardest. I nearly turned blue and they nearly did a caesor on me. But I did it eventually. Pushed all 3.1kg of her out. But I lost alot of blood and had a fever thenafter. Never felt this weak after a birth and was shivering like mad. The husband vowed that this would definately be our last. He could not bear to see me in pain no more. Such sweetness la my husband. Rarely show his emotions but when he does, I melt.

And so I hope she understands one day that her entering this world is one that me and her daddy will forever cherish that life is indeed so precious. And our wish is for her to be happy in whatever she does and make us her mummy and daddy proud. She’ll always be our beautiful baby girl no matter how old.
